Terms of Service

These terms cover the Taxora website and the Taxora application for Mac and Windows. By downloading the trial or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Taxora.

What Taxora is

Taxora is an organizer and estimator for people with US self-employment income who use a Mac or a Windows PC. It helps you track expenses, review a quarterly set-aside figure, ask questions about your own records, and export a package for your accountant.

Not tax, legal, or accounting advice

Taxora is not a certified tax advisor, CPA firm, law firm, or enrolled agent. It does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. Estimates can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Categories suggested by the assistant are suggestions. You and your qualified professional decide what to file and what you owe. Do not rely on Taxora as the only source for a return, a payment, or a deduction.

The free trial

The trial lasts 30 days and includes the product features described on the site. It does not require a credit card. We will not charge you unless you later choose a paid plan and add a payment method. When the trial ends, syncing and the assistant stop unless you continue. Export anything you need before that date. We may email a reminder to the address on your account.

Your responsibilities

Bank connections

Optional bank and card connections are provided through Plaid. Those connections are read-only. Taxora cannot initiate payments. Plaid’s own terms apply to the connection. You can disconnect an institution in the app.

The assistant

Answers are generated from the records in your workspace and from general product logic. They can be mistaken. They are not a determination of tax law. Review them before you act, and review them with your CPA before you file.

The website

Pages on this site describe the product. They are not a guarantee of a particular tax outcome, refund, savings, or filing result. Sample numbers in the interface illustrations are not your figures.

Acceptable use and availability

We may suspend access if we believe a workspace is being used in a way that harms the service or other people. The app and the site can be unavailable during maintenance. We do not promise uninterrupted access.

Limitation

To the fullest extent the law allows, Taxora is provided “as is.” We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for lost profits, lost tax positions, penalties, or interest that result from relying on an estimate or an export without professional review. Some states do not allow certain limitations. In those states, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. If a change is material, we will say so on this page or by email if we have your address.
